Teaser Tuesday 3/19/13 (6): Rapture by Lauren Kate

  • Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Alright! Our TT for this week is for Dani's current read, Rapture by Lauren Kate! This is the 4th and final book in the Fallen series that Dani has gotten around to reading. We might have a review for this, if we have time. There are tons of books lines up for reviewing right now, so we don't know if we will get to this especially with out busy schedules in April and May.

Rapture (Fallen, #4)Goodreads Synopsis:

The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.

Teaser:

There was a tense stillness all around them. All the angels seemed to hold their breath.
Daniel's violet eyes filled with tears. He whispered: "More."
"Isn't that enough?"
He shook his head.
"Daniel?"
"Lucinda."
The way he said her name--so gravely--made her stomach ache. What did he want from her?
She blinked, and it sounded like a thunderbolt--and then the Trojan plain went black like it had the night before. The earth was marred by crooked fissures. Smoking craters stood where the field had been. Dust and ash and death were everywhere. The trees were on fire along the horizon, and a foul belch of rot rolled in on the wind. It was as if her soul had been hurled millennia back in time. There was no snow on the mountains, no tidy white hut, no circle of angels' worried faces.
But there was Daniel.

Yes, Luce finally DOES REMEMBER WHO SHE IS! You will either be extremely surprised or extremely happy if you correctly guessed who she is. Me? I was SHOCKED. ;) Have fun reading the finale to the Fallen series!
